ARCADIA HOME, founded by Dawn Kikel in 2001, creates eco-friendly artisan made home and holiday designs meant to be lived with and enjoyed rather than kept behind glass and admired from afar. Inspired by nature and by the uniqueness of handmade craft- each ARCADIA HOME design is as individual as the artisans who created it.
For the 10 year anniversary of ARCADIA HOME, we celebrated the occasion by becoming a member of 1% for the Planet, pledging to donate at least 1% of our annual sales to environmental causes. As a member of 1% for the Planet we are joining with other socially conscious companies in what has become the gold standard of corporate philanthropy. We are thrilled to be able to help our selected local and international organizations in their mission to create a better world for us and for those who come after. All of our customers can now say that each and every ARCADIA HOME product purchased not only supports artisans in the various countries we work in around the world but also supports the important work environmental groups are doing to make the planet safer, healthier, and happier. We are thrilled to have made this commitment for ourselves, our customers, and for our future.
Recently, ARCADIA HOME was commissioned to create Christmas tree skirts and a special Christmas stocking for the White House Residence. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to share our designs with the First Family and created three heirloom tree skirts for them- one in our sustainable hand felted wool and two in our hand beaded silk with recycled glass beading as well as a stocking of hand felted wool for the First Dog. Simple elegant designs that we hope they will enjoy for years to come.
